There are some things you need in your possession and others that you don’t.  Let’s first see if you fit the bill of someone who requires this ridiculously awesome cookbook in their life…

Well my healthy fiends, look no further, Keris Marsden and Matt Whitmore of Fitter London and Fitter Food have rustled up, Fitter Food – A Lifelong Recipe for Health & Fat Loss.  

Now this is no ordinary cookbook.  Matt and Keris have a detailed, yet, not too complex explanation at the start of the book as to why you need, them, their food choices and their recipes in your life.  It has been with great delight that I have worked my way through several of their recipes, each time being more delighted than the last, at the flavour, speed and ease with which I have whipped up yet another tasty meal!

Keris was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and suffered a bout of acne in her twenties.  After small success with the contraceptive pill to clear her acne and some antibiotics which ended up playing havoc with her digestive system, Keris started to redefine the foods that were making her sick and the foods that would bring her back to full health.  Now free from PCOS, a happy digestive system and glowing skin, her self-medication is through her food.  Oh we’ll have what she’s having please Doc!

Delighted at the continued enhancement of my culinary skills, I have had further confirmation from several clients (sick of me harping on about what I made the night before) now too in possession of the book, at just how amazing it is.  So I will leave you with one of my favourite recipes thus far, you can thank me later:

Coconut Comfort Curry:


Coconut Oil or Ghee for cooking
1 onion chopped
400g raw prawns
400g tin of organic coconut milk
2 teaspoons of curry powder
1 teaspoon of grated ginger
2 large handfuls of fresh organic spinach
Bunch of fresh coriander
1/4-1/2 teaspoon of salt

COOKING TIME: 10 minutes

1) Prepare the sauce by mixing together the coconut milk, salt, curry powder and grated ginger in a bowl and set aside.

2) Stir-fry the onions in coconut oil or ghee for 2 minutes.

3) Add the coconut curry sauce to the onions and simmer for 5 minutes.

4) Add the prawns to the curry sauce and cook until pink.

5) Finally add the spinach and allow it to wilt down. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve.
