When Burger King post-training wasn’t an issue!

Yes I said that!! Burger King…post training!! There was a time when after a spot of training one rewarded oneself with a burger and chips from where the burger is King, and there is indeed the possibility that it was washed down with coke!! That was circa 1997, when many a night was spent schmoozing cute boys at the university bar, and sleep deprivation did not belong to my student vocabulary. One could burn the candle at both ends, look fresh as a daisy the next day, and not think twice about fast food as a suitable post-training reward!! My memory was jogged to such times after spending a weekend with my girls and reminiscing on the old days. However, our sorry selves post-a glass of wine or two and not much sleep after much chatter was a sign of how times have changed. One word! Consequence!! Staying up late into the early hours makes me drag my heels for at least a day or two. Consequence. Eating a burger king after training makes me feel rubbish and expands my waistline. Consequence! Not working out and eating well most of the time slows my already slowing metabolism. Consequence!! Yes I have more money and have banished the awful eyebrows I sported in my youth, but it appears consequence is quite keen on keeping close tabs on my life. Oh well it was fun while it lasted!!
