Post-training snacks…

Do you ever wonder what you should eat immediately post-training? I mean, complete last repetition, and possibly even pre-shower…one has got to refuel. (And just in case you thought it was smart not to eat after your training session…well it’s not…AT ALL!!! – you need to replenish all of the energy that you have used up in order for your body to be able to function and burn fat properly…no food, means no fatburn, got it!)
So here’s what you should eat after the following:
Hard-ass cardio – a fruit juice immediately post-training to replenish your blood sugar, with a few nuts or seeds for some good fat and protein. This needs to be followed with something a little more substantial within 1-2 hours post-training, ideally within 1 hour.
Hard-ass weights session – a protein shake immediately post-training or some other protein source (meat/fish/dairy/nuts/seeds)…the shake though is great if you’re on the run…and don’t fear protein shakes ladies, they are not the enemy. This needs to be followed with something a little more substantial within 1-2 hours post-training, ideally within 1 hour.
Light cardio or light weights – a small piece of fruit and some nuts just to keep you ticking over until you follow it with something a little more substantial within 1-2 hours post-training, ideally within 1 hour.
Don’t forget to drink plenty of fluids too ladies, your body needs them!!
