Are you a fan of spicy foods? Well, rumour has it that adding a little chilli to your plate boosts your metabolism for up to 30% several hours after you’ve finished eating. How fabulous!
Research has shown that capsaicin (the bit in chillies that makes them hot) increases the body’s heat production and oxygen consumption both during and after eating. The reason why you may often feel a little hot under the collar when eating spicy food. So worth it for the extra burn no?
So chop up a chilli and get burning!
