Fizz Facts…

Rumour has it that drinking carbonated drinks isn’t great for us girls as it can lead to osteoperosis, so here at Fit Girl we thought we’d set the record straight. Now you know we’re not even having the conversation about sugary drinks here, but they do need a quick mention – only ‘caffeinated’ fizzy drinks can lead to osteoperosis, not the caffeine-free stuff, but since you don’t drink that crap anyway, let’s just focus on water.
Still or sparkling? Well you can have naturally sparkling (the fizz is already in the water) or carbonated (the bubbles are pumped on in . . . kind of like botox for water). So, much like pumping your face full of chemicals, the carbonated stuff is less appealing than eau naturel (think Jocelyn Wildenstein…a whole lotta bubble!)
Naturally sparkling water holds lots more minerals in the bubbles, whereas the Jocelyn Wildenstein variety can grab hold of minerals from your body and we need those babies cos without them, vitamins are useless, enzymes cannot function properly and certain hormones become out of balance – think never ending PMT – not fun!!
If there was a hierarchy in the world of water, we would recommend the following:
1st – Naturally carbonated mineral water (full of minerals!) – think “Badoit sweety, badoit!”
2nd – Natural mineral water
3rd – Carbonated mineral water
